Hells Angels, Pagans Shooting Alleged

Donald Smith, the Augusta County Virginia Sheriff, held a press conference today to announce the arrest of seven Hells Angels at the Hometown Inn in Greenville at about three o’clock this morning.

Greenville, Virginia is about 40 miles due west of Charlottesville.

Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of gunfire. When they arrived at the motel they found two casualties. Both were members of the Pagans Motorcycle Club. One Pagan had been beaten and the second had been shot.

According to the Sheriff, “The shooting victim was transported to the hospital where he is undergoing surgery. The male who was assaulted was also transported to the hospital to be treated for his injuries. Seven men were detained at the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.”

The beating victim was treated and released. The shooting victim remains hospitalized.

Smith did not release any names. He described the seven alleged Hells Angels as being “from the New York City area.” Their rooms were searched and all seven were arrested.

Five of the men were charged with malicious wounding and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. Two men were charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of a firearm while in possession of narcotics.

According to Smith, “It looks like the Hells Angels were there first and the Pagan’s showed up to rent a room, then the two just clashed. The one just attacked the other one.”

“Both had been at a convention type thing for their clubs and were just passing through the area. They ended up meeting in the Greenville area and this was the result.”

Oldskewl, it’s called “constructive possession” and is a legal fiction that was invented to address certain facts. It is very difficult to prove.

If my memory is correct, one or two of these guys have successfully sued the NYPD for violating their constitutional rights. To quote Ron Kuby, “they are sophisticated consumers of legal talent.”

Bubba Smith might be a little over his head on this one. Time will tell, it always does.

  2. Phuquehed Says:

By the looks of the younger people in the mug shots of both sides, I’d bet money none of them (the younger guys) knew how to shut the fuck up and simply started shit-talking each other.

I’m also with the others on wondering why anyone hung around with guns and drugs afterward. Pig setup, placing drugs and gun there so they could bust everyone?

  3. oldskewl Says:

To be fair, it doesn’t say they were “patched members”, I’m sure someone who reads this site knows if they were or not and it will come out in the wash. I mean no disrespect to the 81, I’m just merely pointing out that a few guys don’t look like “bikers” in the mug shots.

As for the gun charge, I think most states will charge everyone with the gun charge in commission of a crime of they were somehow involved, despite them never touching the gun. After a lengthy stay in jail and a lengthy trial the gun charges will be dropped on everyone except the person who pulled the trigger.

It’s a big “Fuck You” by the DA. Also, if nobody claims the gun or firing the shot then everyone gets charged, same with the dope.

  4. Been there Says:

@freebird maybe it’s because their not just a bunch of punks letting a patch make them a somebody. I never see them riding ever.

  5. Old & Jaded Says:

@freebird – You are absolutely right. As Oldskewl pointed out, if you look at those mug shots, it’s hard to envision some of those guys as bikers and that’s admittedly, on my part anyway, coming from someone with some gray hair.

The whole notion of work does seem different with many in the current generation. Some of the young employees that worked for me had no problem asking for special schedules, huge blocks of time off, etc. when they were so new they weren’t sure where to park. Many didn’t seem to have a sense of teamwork, loyalty to the company, or care about promoting; wanted the paycheck, minimal responsibility and lots of time off. Hell, maybe they will wind up much healthier than those of us that put in long hours but the “paying your dues” days appear largely over.

  6. freebird Says:

    @ Old & Jaded

I believe every generation feels the same way….. My father told me i was a pussy for washing dish’s that was women’s work

Now i look at younger people who don’t care if they don’t get 40 hrs a week. Show up when they feel like it and don’t call off or let anyone know whats going on

In my day you were fired no questions asked….

Today you fire that person, you will be doing your job and theirs

  7. Old & Jaded Says:

@oldskewl – Thanks for the article and damn, you ain’t kidding. Times are indeed a changin’.

  8. Saul Goodman Says:

“In executing the search warrant, the sheriffs office seized numerous items of Hells Angels’ clothing and jewelry along with eight motorcycles and one gun, Smith said.”

    Seven defendants.

    Two “victims.”

    Eight motorcycles seized.

    One gun seized.

All seven defendants charged with a gun offense.

What? Were they sharing the gun? Kind of hard for seven people to simultaneously possess a gun.

Two charged with meth possession. Can one pressure they were registered in the same room? Meth was probably left in a drawer from a previous guest. (Not quite a 5-star hotel. Psst: across the street from a truck stop–not exactly a Disney World Resort)

Nothing like a goodnight sleep at the Hometown Inn!

Just looking the photos if you were to tell me half of these guys were bikers I wouldn’t believe it. A few of the older guys fit the description.

  11. freebird Says:

In the updates i see where they say as a precautionary measure, schools and a daycare in the area were notified of the incident

Surely they also contacted the international space station at the same time

  12. 31st Says:

    @Irish 1%

You saw the mug shots, right? Let’s not pretend its still 1979.

  13. Irish 1%er Says:

Sounds like the Pagans should of just kept on mozying down the road, minded their own business and acted rough amongst their fans. These are felllas from NYC, they don’t play and respect and common courtesy goes a long way with men of honor. 3rd street crew, home of legends.

  14. Johnboy666 Says:

I don’t think there was a video released to the public.

  15. Axl Says:

@sameoldsong what’s the link to the video?

  16. Neuro Says:

Strange, and slightly depressing. The older Members look like Italian-Americans. The younger guys look like straight fob foreigners.

  17. Sameoldsong Says:

Two pagans we’re beating the shit out of the Angels and they realized they were ganna lose so they shot the one that was getting the best of them and then all hopped on the other one……at least that’s what the camera is showing….. pussys

There’s at least one pig on this thread but probably two who overplayed their part.

    I smell bacon.

  24. New England Rider Says:

    @white witch –

You back for round two, dummy? I shamed you with your total ignorance in a previous post, do I need to spank your bottom again young man?

Death is certain, life is not.

  25. New England Rider Says:

    @Anon –

You mad bro? I am not sure what the bad news is, no one died. A couple of battle wounds they’ll brag about and probably get a patch for later. If someone died I would have adopted a different attitude.

You also missed the part where I said it was none of my business anyway. I was just thinking out loud. And to that point @Johnboy666 not here in New England. This has been HA and Outlaw territory forever. Now I hear rumblings of the Pagans moving in which to me is nothing more than interesting from an outsider aspect. I have no horse in the race and respect all clubs.

  27. Troll1% Says:

Old saying.”It is better to remain silent, and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt” Just a thought from an OLD man with a little bit of experience.

  28. Stevo Says:

The Boxer. He sits alone in the Museum Of Rome, across from the railway station. I couldn’t take my eyes off him, the proportions, the detail, the fact that be was made by hand with hammer and dolly 2000 years ago. That’s all I have to say on this subject .

  29. Trebor Says:

@Sameolsong In the motorcycle club world Queensbury rules dont apply. Not about how tough. Its all on one one on all.If one of your family members was in it with someone you just going to stand there and watch?

  30. Hangaround Says:

Yeah that makes you wonder. I’m curious as to the police response time on this, surely no one in their right mind would just return to their room for a beer right after.

  31. white witch Says:

@Johnboy666 he has been in his mama’s basement googling about bikers.
he has no idea what the hell he is talking about. the only bike he rides is a huffy

    “The cops are coming”

“Cool, I’m just gonna hold onto my meth and this gun. Shouldn’t be an issue.”

  34. Johnboy666 Says:

@NewEnglandRider. Sounds like something brewing?? Where have you been since the late 60’s? This shit has been going on here on Long Island and NY metro area since at least late 60’s/early 70’s. HA and 16’s are old bitter rivals for a very long time.

  35. Sameoldsong Says:

7 on 2? Wow so tough… sounds like nigger pussy shit

  36. Anon Says:

    @New England Rider:

Does that LL&R mean anything to you ? Particularly the loyalty and respect part ?

If it does, consider keeping your own counsel when AgingRebel posts bad news. Maybe that ain’t clear if we were together person I could say- “Shut the fuck up.”

A nicer way would be to post a video with David Allan Coe singing “Jimmy Buffet.” It goes like this:
Bringing heat where it’s already to damn hot to die
Son of a son of bitch, what’s all that bullshit for ?

  37. Va. Bob Says:

Looked like a small motel from the news footage. The two 16’s didn’t recon the parked bikes for rival emblems before checking in? Something doesn’t add up. Damned if I’d want to run into a bunch of folks I don’t like if I only had one friend with me.

  38. jrino Says:

This is better then the Mayans for club PR.

  39. New England Rider Says:

Interesting….from whispering there is something brewing between the HA and Pagans. Rumors of territory encroachment and bad blood. Even here in New England it seems to be going on. It will be interesting how this all shakes out. And of course none of it is my business anyway!
