Desperately Seeking Philly Warlocks

The Aging Rebel is seeking  current or recent members of the Warlocks Motorcycle Club in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.  Specifically this page seeks confirmation and elaboration of the following:

The Warlocks Motorcycle Club’s clubhouse at 1864 Frankford Avenue in Philadelphia closed before January 1, 2012.

The Philadelphia Warlocks Harpy logo is not registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

The club’s main telephone number, 215 426 6212, was disconnected in January 2012.

The last time the Philly Warlocks made news was in February 2009 when the recording secretary of the Warlocks, Daniel “Dirty Dick” McElheney, was accused of possessing prescription pills without a prescription. The previous year, the former President of the Bucks County Chapter of the Warlocks, Tommy Zaroff, was accused of possessing 10 pounds of methamphetamine. After his arrest Zaroff joined the American Outlaws Association. Around the same time a Pennsylvania Deputy Attorney General named Kishan Nair claimed that the Philly Warlocks and The Breed, another club with a strong presence in and around Philadelphia, were partners in an illicit drug trade.

The club’s site at disappeared before 2011.

Most internet junk information about the Philadelphia Warlocks relies heavily on a 1989 State of New Jersey Commission of Investigation titled “Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs.”

A Facebook page titled “Warlocks MC Pennsylvania” was established on August 21, 2012. View that page here.  Forty-five people like the page.

Any current or recent member of the Philly Warlocks or any member of the Pagans MC or the Breed MC who knows any current or recent member of the Philly Warlocks is invited to email The Aging Rebel at [email protected]

Come on now you have the chance to come clean and tell the truth about what has went on in Cincy… have until Midnight then I will expose your fake ass “Chapters” hidden secrets.

  2. Retro Says:

The Ohio Warlocks don’t even get their patches from the Chester/Philly chapter. They make their own patches and you guys do have a cop his name is Christian Keene aka Wick. Ohio uses their chapter as a revenge club against the Iron Horsemen. It’s painful to watch nothing but scabs

  3. 1%Er..wffw Says:

We don’t give shit away. It’s earned. We respect our heritage and we live it. We stay out the light, like our laws are written. Cops??? I don’t fucking think so. Ex ponies absolutely . They wanted to find something real with true brotherhood. Mr. IronRider probably is a ponie. Sounds very comfortable dropping names and locations. Good thing his information is wrong. IH are cop callers and informants. They need to keep their training wheels on while fleeing…or is that to soon?? To the rest of you don’t believe everything you read on the internet. Usually I don’t bite off, but when you live and believe a certain way it’s not so easy. The real will understand..,… Be safe out there!!

I think we can say with some certainty that William Mondy got his ass handed to him by a biker. Probably running his mouth before keyboards existed. Now he can safely sit behind his PC at home and talk shit.

  6. Ironrider Says:

The worlocks are here in Cincinnati they have a club house in Lawrenceburg indian. The president name is cheap, it’s full of panzies that don’t have to probate they just sell or give away cuts Alot of the members are former iron horseman and cops, what a great mix up. One of the members threw his cut to a member of another club thinking he was going to get hurt but has a 1% patch. They have been seen hanging around take 5 in dent and a bar on motgomery Rd in blue ash

  7. Shovelhead Says:

Gee, guess I’ll stop being bad now, OK William Mondy? Please don’t pick on us anymore! I’ll be good…promise.

Mondy is pretty much how all cowards and punks talk online. I’m sure you could go downtown and find a Biker to mouth off too Willy, instead of coming here, Go for it.
Wouldn’t it be more satisfying to say this shit in person, right to someone’s face?

I was living in Mayfair in the 1960’s and 70’s and ran with a biker named Joe G. also remember “Thumper”, met them at a local biker bar on Frankford Ave. through friends. They were some of the best times, life was different, mentality was different and we didn’t have all the friggin laws that restrict them today.

  23. micky Says:

any dirtyneckers mc members or friends from 60s 70s and 80s

  24. WMC Says:

We go by the Original Warlocks MC now

  25. BulletRiddenBiker Says:

Warlocks of the 60 and 70’s were plain and simple crazy. They were a bad ass crew. You just didn’t fuck with them. I can tell you from first had experience. A monster by they name Uncle Tom almost killed me back in 1979. Arguing with him was the worst thing I ever did. I for one am not a little guy but if you ever seen him it was like Big John Studd the wrestler. He shot me in the stomach. I saw him in Daytona durning bike week about 20 years later and reminded him of what he did. I figured were olde now and wiser. Well his response was to me was that he didn’t remember. I showed him my scar and h told me that I was lucky because “I am usually a good shot”. So think.people before you try to get a reunion of old Warlocks. The are a daangerous crew. And the last I heard he passed away a few years back.

  26. josh mclovn Says:

saw 2 harpy warlocks at the roar to the shore in wildwood NJ last weekend, one with a south jersey bottom rocker and one with phila.

  27. Robert Says:

My father was born and raised in Kensington and claimed to have been a Warlock back in the mid to late 60s. He went by Spic and Span. He was known in the bars in Kensington, including his uncle’s bar, Walt’s on Frankford and Birch as “Reb” or “Rebel”. He died in 2001.

  28. SouthernRedNeck Says:

Rebel, Unfortunately it looks like Tommy “The Boss” and his Father Tom “Uncle Tom” passed away. I just saw that looking into Bucks county history.

  29. Chalie P. Says:

Knew Chalie H. from Manayunk, He passed a few years ago, was a warlock, and very proud, friends with my Father I hung out with his son, years ago, I worked with a wife of a Warlock,( 2009) she was trying to leave the life, I guess there is not to many left, well anyway always like any history about Philly Gangs and would love to Wright a book someday, like the gangs of New York but about Philly gangs from Mid Century til the 1980’s. They all know a man called Bed Bug an old Friend and Biker From Manayunk, I know he was still alive last I heard, he knows all the Bikers but pretty old now if he is still around he would be a good person to get some history from. Maybe they don’t want to be known or they are all so old they stopped recruiting or members patched over to the Pagans although I would never of expected that. I am in Florida now and The warlocks down here are not the same. I have a book by Bill Hayes The one percenter Encyclopedia and no mention of the Philly Warlocks, its a shame I grew Up next to a biker house and hung at a biker bar called Uncle Chalies, Saw some Pagans lose a fight there once, No retaliation for that, I guess it was some respect for the former bikers that hung there. Hope the Warlocks that are left do get the club going again, it was the True Philly Biker MC. Hope I didn,t say anything out of line just tried to keep names of any current members or wifes out of the post. Like the members like they to say, non of my fing business, and I don’t think you will hear from any members.

  33. Chalie Says:

Ur information is actually completely wrong u need to do more research Rebel.

  34. inkedupirishguy Says:

I live right outside Philly and I can honestly say I haven’t seen any Warlocks patches on the highways lately. Work takes me from above Philadelphia down to Baltimore. I have seen more Pagan’s patches flying more often in and around Philly. One Pagan actually helped me when my Dodge Ram broke down just south of Wilmington.

    Dear Frequent Flyer,

This is very complicted, which is why the Orlando Sentinel keeps getting it wrong. The Sentinel just needs something to call the shooters in the VFW parking lot murders. Okay? So they call them “the Philly Warlocks.”

Thank you for your patience, you have an amazing ability to explain things.

I know I just got here, I shouldn’t ask stupid questions. I recently discovered the search feature. ha ha

Rebel, your webpage is awesome. Thank you.

FF, did you actually READ the story?

    5 to 1

I’m an idiot, I know(bows head in shame).

PS not making excused but I’ve had six concussions. Peace.

  37. Rebel Says:

    Dear Frequent Flyer,

This is very complicted, which is why the Orlando Sentinel keeps getting it wrong. The Sentinel just needs something to call the shooters in the VFW parking lot murders. Okay? So they call them “the Philly Warlocks.”

The Warlocks originally from West Philadelphia wear a Harpy patch. The Warlocks originally from Florida wear a Phoenix/Warbird. Both clubs claim to have been founded in 1967. The West Philly Warlocks have split in two into a faction led by the Chester chapter that calls itself “the original Warlocks.” The split happened because one of the oldtime Harpy Warlocks went away to the penitentiary for about 15 years and when he got out everything was different. Among other things, the Chester faction of the Harpy Warlocks believes that the Warbird/Warlocks stole the Warlocks name after visting the Philadelphia Navy Yard in the late 60s. The other faction of the Harpy Warlocks has no desire to have any beef with the Warbird Warlocks.

Are you following me so far?

Now, it also happens that a number of the Harpy Warlocks in the south, are former members of the Harpy Warlocks Chester faction which the rest of the Harpy Warlocks do not recognize.

I hope that answers your question because the situation is actually more complicated than that.

I guess I’m going to have to write a background story on this.

  38. Sieg Says:

FF, did you actually READ the story?

    5 to 1

  39. Frequent Flyer Says:

Rebel, I have a question: Is there a relation between this club and the Warlocks MC in Florida? I’m just intrigued, not trying to be nosy.

  40. Samurai Says:

Yes it does. Thank you. Like i said, hopefully there was no disrespect taken.

  41. anon Says:

First off, welcome to the site. Second, I appreciate that you understand the notion of “club business,” even if both of us are outside the life. It shows you already understand more than 90% of the population, at a minimum.

If you’re new to the site instead of just a lurker, Rebel has a long history of respecting – and not getting involved with – club business. He’s been very open about this topic in the past. Everything that’s been stated above is in the public domain. I took this story as Rebel trying to reach out and get valid information from what seems to be one of the few clubs that he doesn’t have a source for. I do understand where you’re coming from, but I don’t think your intuition is correct here.

If you’ve been reading the page for a while, it’s not hard to imagine that this case is anything from an ex-member with a vendetta to a major undercover operation by multiple local, state, and federal agencies. If an ex-member is involved, it may be all of those things. “Luckily,” this sounds like it may just be an ex-member who potentially dragged members of another club with the same name into a terrible situation instead of being a fed set-up. I say “luckily” only because it could have been far more serious for far more people. I also don’t know if that other club is involved. Someone suggested at one point that the colors look a bit off… at the least, they look a bit new, whether genuine or not. In any case, it sounds like a tragedy for several people involved.

I hope the club or clubs involved can reach whatever agreement they can find acceptable and avoid any unnecessary tragedies. The necessary tragedies… well, I hope there are none, but I understand if there are.

    Respect for the fallen.

  42. Rebel Says:

    Dear Samurai,

People tell me what they think somebody should know. I usually know more than I say. Regarding this matter, one guy flattered very much by saying if it was any other reporter he would tell him to go fuck himself. So far, I haven’t written anything about this case that hasn’t been public information. Based on what I have learned over the last couple of days I don’t have reason to think that either the feds or another major club was involved in this tragedy. I thinks this was, basically, an intra-club dispute with one disgruntled ex-member involved in a dispute with club members. The disgruntled ex-member dragged other people along with him. One of the other people may have had a little history with the Warlocks in Pennsylvania.

    Okay? Answer your question?

  43. Junior Says:

Seems to me that everything Rebel wrote was information that was already in the “public realm”, like clubhouse #’s, a criminal charge and dates that sites went up & down. -Junior

  44. Samurai Says:

With all respects Rebel, from what i understand of the MC world, wouldn’t some of that info count as club business. Mabe my understanding is a bit off, and I understand that you’re a well respected person, but wouldn’t answering these questions possibly cross a line. Like i said, I’m not all that knowledgeable about the life and the rules so if i’m wrong i apologize

  45. Uncle Don Says:

    KK and swampy

Thank you for the info. very interesting.

    uncle don

  46. swampy Says:

I believe that in certain mythology a warlock may dispatch a Harpy to do his “dirty work.”

  47. Uncle Don Says:

KK Thanks, I get that. According to I think it was the world english dictionary a harpy is a cruel grasping woman or from greed myth a ravenous creature with a womans head and trunk and a birds wings and claws. I just wanted to know why they used this as part of their patch. Just curious. Nothing to me. Not trying to step on toes. Just wondering.

    Respect to a few
    uncle don

  48. Uncle Don Says:

I had to google harpy to find out what one is or was. Can someone explane the symbolism to me. I don’t get it.

  49. jimmy snooka Says:

this may just be heresay but I heard bunch were now donning the sigmature blue denim vest of another club from that area…..
