A Brief Apology

October 24, 2011

All Posts, News

On Sunday, October 24, this page used a road sign for Interstate 81 to illustrate a story about the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club.

As everyone except the author of this page knows, the Road Brother Motorcycle Club wears a patch that includes an interstate road sign that varies according to the location of the chapter. So some Road Brother chapters wear a patch marked “I-5” while other may wear a patch marked “I-81.” Interstate 81 is a highway in the eastern United States that approximately follows the Appalachians. The road runs from Binghamton, New York to Dandridge, Tennessee.

The illustration was not intended to indicate any particular relationship that may or may not exist between chapters of the Road Brother MC and chapters of the Hells Angels MC. This page apologizes to both the Hells Angels MC and the Road Brother MC for any confusion or consternation the illustration may have caused.

All due respect to the parties involved.  The disrespect was unintended.

I live in Joker/I-5 Brother territory. Grew up around Jokers in PDX. Much respect to these clubs.

C I have a 1200 custom sportster im pretty sure belonged to a member. And a mc deserves respect, one patch or rockers. I even know a outlaw RC. If someone earns their patches they earned my respect. Well at least until they disrespect me.

Mugz- All due respect to you and your club, but the intended parties may by see your post considering the date of this story. They also seem like one post jerks with an agenda. Not with your time.

  7. RLG Says:

    Dear Mugz,

This was posted almost two years ago. Your comment on this story actually brought it back to the front page of this blog where search engines will index it as new content and associate it with keywords in your comment. I am just trying to be helpful by pointing out this irony.

  8. Mugz Says:

Leave our club alone. I am a road brother prospect and the fact you say road brothers are want to bees just shows you have never met a road brother in person. Yes we are a brother club to Gypsie jokers and we support them as much as they support us.

    Well said, Sled.

    Sled Tramp:

    Isn’t “unedjcumated” spelled with a ‘k’?

    Good post, by the way.

  11. 10Gauge Says:

Very well said as always Sled Tramp.

    With Respect- 10G

    Well said S-T.
BTW – I haven’t and won’t be, posting all that much. I spend enough time on keyboards… I enjoy reading the opinions and views expressed here, as well as Rebel’s Pulitzer level talents. Occasionally there might be something I can’t resist commenting on. I hope the regulars will find my ramblings to be a worthy contribution to the discourse on any such occasions.
Until then… Keep’er ‘tween the ditches.

IMHO,when someone posts a one time post or is a very rare contributor, openly disrespects a club, history, individual etc.I automatically assume that individual is either a a) shit stirrer hiding behind a keyboard,b) a hangaround or supporter of a rival organization or c) L.E.
As regards our 5 point tarnished button friends,it’s certainly easy to misspell a few words and play a role (after all, are we as motorcycle enthusiasts not unedjcumated trash incapable of proper grammer?)
As pertains to all others,I just let it go.One percent to me means the one percent that actually made through a crucible rather than the 99 percent of those that failed.
    What’s the old saying? I used to be disgusted,now I’m just amused….

  16. Luke Says:

Road Brothers are a support club for the Gypsy Jokers and just a bunch of wannabee’s.

  17. DesertH-D Says:

Thanks for that Sled Tramp. Not in their area and haven’t run across any at an event, so it’s good to know. I trust your assessment, having seen your posts. (I’m new as a poster, been lurking for a while.) I just couldn’t abide the generalization that was made by Cuz, and had to join in… Generalizations are dangerous. Know a man before judging him… Assume a “1-piece” means wanna-be, and ya MIGHT get tuned up, right quick. Just as seeing a “new” 3-piece doesn’t automatically mean they’re worthy of respect. The man makes the patch (or “PATCHES”), not the other way around.

Respects to all that deserve it.

  18. sled tramp Says:

Road Brother M.C. is a brother club to Gypsy Joker M.C. They are very much NOT a wannabe club.

  19. DesertH-D Says:

Damn Cuz… Can you really not see what Rebel was doing? He is not “disrespecting” Road Brothers, and at the same time is eliminating making a reference or insinuation of affilation with the 81. C’mon… Do you not see where any “complaint” probably originated? I doubt it was with Road Brothers, but even if it was, Rebel understood the greater implication once pointed out. And he manned up and corrected it.

Oh, and as for a “1 piece patch” being a wanna-be, there’s more than a few 1-piece patch holders you might not wanna say that to in person. Don’t know the Road Brothers, and they may or may not be wanna-bes, but your generalization of “patch count” reveals your ignorance…

  20. rollinnorth Says:

Top shelf, Rebel. Keep up the good job.

  21. TigGirl Says:

Interstate 81 is a nice ride.

  22. anon Says:

Regardless of their status in the community (which I know nothing about, but others have commented on), this is a stand-up think for you to do, Rebel. Much respect. Information, honesty, and humility like this is exactly what has kept coming around this site for quite a while.

  23. Grumbler Says:

Road Brother Motorcycle Club doesn’t wear the “I-81” patch. They do, however, have the “I-84” patch. Interstate 84 runs between Portland, OR and Echo, UT.

  25. Cuz Says:

Callin the Road Bros a real club is a joke their a 1 peice patch group of wanna bee’s
