Dwight Alan Sluder, President of the Winston-Salem charter of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club was found dead in his own home on Baux Mountain Road in Germantown, North Carolina on July 15th. He had been shot in the head.
Sluder owned his home for 12 years and none of his neighbors in the quiet neighborhood had anything bad to say about him. Hal Mendenhall, his next door neighbor told the Winston-Salem Journal, “You couldn’t ask for a better neighbor.
Another neighbor named Bill Lathery described Sluder as, “Very friendly, very cordial.”
His club brothers remember that he “lived life to the fullest everyday as a Hells Angel.”
No suspects have been arrested in the case. No motive has been officially theorized for the crime.
Sluder is survived by his mother, Carolyn Hughes; his daughter, Elizabeth Sluder; his brother, Curtis Sluder; his sister, LeKita George; his fiancé, Marie Rice; and his brothers in the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club.
His survivors will receive friends tomorrow evening, July 24th, at the Silas Creek Chapel of the Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home between 7 and 9 pm. He will be buried at noon, Saturday, July 25th in Parklawn Memorial Park in Winston-Salem.
