New York Pagan Murdered

Francisco Rosado, who is alleged to have been the president of Pagans Motorcycle Club chapter in the Bronx Borough of New York City, was murdered Saturday afternoon, in what police and the local press have categorized as a “targeted hit.”

Rosado was shot multiple times in the head and chest by two gunmen about 3:30 p.m. on Holland Avenue in the Allerton neighborhood of the East Bronx. The gunmen, like virtually everybody else in New York, were wearing masks. They fled the scene, according to police sources via the New York Daily News, in a waiting, blue, Jeep Cherokee with stolen license plates.

Local news sources speculate that Rosado was murdered because of an unresolved dispute between the New York charter of the the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club and the Pagans.

Angels Relocation

Late last year, the Hells Angels relocated their club house from a building in Manhattan to a former American Legion Post with a serene view of Long Island Sound on Longstreet Avenue in the Southwest Bronx. On January 2, what the Daily News described as “a group of unknown people on motorcycles” fired at least 14 shots into the clubhouse “sometime around 10:35 p.m.”

The Hells Angels move and their greeting by vandals were sensationalized by local television stations News 12 Bronx and WNBC. Rosado’s death is also being exploited for vicarious thrills. It is an historically slow news season and people are tired of hearing about the plague in New York City. News of a “gang turf war” provides a new threat to write about.

According to Eric Klein of Bronx Justice News, police “were concerned the Angels would strike back before the culprits responsible for the clubhouse shooting were arrested.”

According to the Daily News, the Pagans “has a hand in drugs, tattoo parlors, strip clubs and junkyards.”

Klein explains that the Pagans participation in glamor businesses like junkyards “place them in direct competition with the Angels.”
