Midland Shooting

There was a shooting in Midland, Texas last night, at about 8:30 local time, in a bar named Your Place at 3704 West Wall Street.

Four men were shot and transported to Midland Emergency Hospital where one of them died. Two other victims remain in serious condition. None of their names have been released.

Multiple unconfirmed sources are reporting that the victims are members of the Mongols Motorcycle Club and that they were assaulted by members of a Red and Gold club called the Villistas Motorcycle Club. A usually reliable source could not confirm that the dead man was a Mongol.

As is usually the case, Police are attempting to manage this news. A Spokesman for the Midland Police Department told The Aging Rebel, “The Public Information Officer has the day off because it is a holiday and he is non-essential personnel so we won’t have any statement until tomorrow.”

Simultaneously, a more police friendly news outlet, CBS television affiliate KOSA reported, “The City of Midland will be holding a press conference at 4:30 p.m. to discuss the state of biker gangs in the area. The press conference will be shared on CBS7.com and the CBS7 Facebook Page.”

Hollywood has a crude writing style. His overuse of the word “I” is telling. It may be symptomatic of an inferiority complex, or an inflated ego. That he feels compelled to say he’s “for real” over and over is another sign of mental disturbance. If he was confident in himself, this act of convincing wouldn’t be necessary. When people really have an attribute, they don’t need to proclaim it. The attribute will be recognized by others. It speaks for itself. Do you ever hear Jeff Bezos say that he’s a successful businessman? Of course not, he doesn’t have to. Everyone recognizes it. Hollywood’s assertions that he’s “for real,” suggest the opposite, as does his adoption of the name “Hollywood.”

Hollywood is a sorry piece of shit. Period.

Thanks Rebel, “The Open Boat”, I’ve already looked up a bit, and it’s just another addition to my life I’d have missed without your site. You’re “here” to stay, but that other guy is in a lesser league, easily overlooked and easier forgotten, and you know what they say about imitation and flattery. Also, there’s that cliche about taking flak when you’re over the target

  4. Rebel Says:

    Dear Dasein,

Don’t get me started on Crane. His jhournalism is probably better than his fiction. Read “The Open Boat” sometime. He also wrote a straight journalistic account of being in the same shipwreck. He wrote The Red Badge of Courage, after many interviews with veterans and much research. Then he smuggled himself into Cuba and covered the Marines in the Spanish American War to ensure he had told the truth. He was impoverished at the end, coughing himself to death at 29. Joseph and Mrs. Conrad took him and his girlfriend in, in England. They were both working writers. Conrad worked at a big table and everyday they would sit accross from each other and work.

Now this other guy is barely literate and he is a liar. Did you know that he tags all his posts “Aging Rebel Biker News” so if you look for me you find him?
