Killing Like It's 1969

One must guess what 69’ers Motorcycle Club members Christopher Brian “Durty” Cosimano and Michael Dominick “Pumpkin” Mencher were thinking when they went to war with the Outlaws in 2017. An obvious guess is that they thought they could get away with it.

The 69’ers – Outlaw war was almost an exercise in nostalgia.

In the late 60s in Boston some OG Irishmen, led by a lad named James Joseph “Whitey” Bulger Jr. and who the press called the Winter Hill Gang, decided to settle their differences with an Italian-American group of friends; who all took wise counsel of a fellow named Raymond Loreda Salvatore Patriarca Sr. The Irish and the Italians had some differences they couldn’t settle over espresso and beers. So they settled things the old fashioned way, with machine guns, in the streets, like it was World War III. Also, Bulger had the FBI in his pocket.

In 2017, the police allege, Cosimano who was a 69’ers chapter president, acted like he had seen that movie and he was inspired by it. He did not care that Patriarca died in 1984. Or that Bulger wound up murdered in a federal penitentiary in West Virginia. Or that kids in whatever is left of Southie don’t remember Whitey for standing up to the Eye-talians, or for how he fought forced busing, or for the way he tried to help the IRA. They remember Whitey was a rat.

2019

Apparently Cosimano fell in love with the notion that Tampa in the late teens was not all that different from Boston in the late 60s even though nothing about those places and times was the same. The cops weren’t the same, forensic science was not the same, surveillance was not the same, the feds weren’t the same and most important the people were not the same. For example, Durty Cosimano is neither Whitey Bulger nor Raymond Patriarca.

As the novelist George V. Higgins, who was an Assistant United States Attorney in Boston during those years, had one of his characters – an unlicensed firearms dealer named Jackie Brown – say, “This life is hard but it’s harder when you’re stupid.”

So this month Cosimano and Mencher are on trial for various federal charges that resulted from the attempted murder of one Outlaws chapter president, the arson of an Outlaws clubhouse and the murder – in the street, in the style of Boston or New York a half century ago – of another Outlaws chapter president named Paul Anderson.

There are photographs of the assassins and there may be video of the murder. Allegedly, Whitey Bulger once had four people murdered in the subbasement of bar called Blackfriars in Boston. He was only after the one guy. The others were witnesses. There was no video. There were no photographs. There was no DNA. The FBI probably knew about it in advance. Bulger had an airtight alibi and he spread the rumor that Patriarca did it.

Who Done It

In his opening statement in the Florida trial at the end of last month, Mencher’s attorney, Anne Borghetti, told the jury that Cosimano killed Anderson. Mencher was an eyewitness. She described his client as a “village idiot” on whom Cosimano wanted to pin the murder.

Cosimano’s attorney, J. Jervis Wise, said it remained a great mystery who actually killed Anderson but it wasn’t Cosimano.

Yesterday, prosecutor Carlton Gammons called a former 69er named Sean “Phelps” Leonard to testify against his former club brothers.

Leonard got into a jam with illegal firearms sales in New York in 2017. So naturally, he agreed to become a Confidential Informant for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Both Cosimano and Mencher called Leonard after Anderson’s murder and confessed to the crime. “I don’t mind doing things,” Mencher said, “but not in broad daylight.”

The trial will probably continue for at least another week.

will save you from life?, hahahahaha,
you can’t even save your selves,
i am so ashamed, watching you piss it all away

@ BigV . Their moral quality is not an issue for me, since they’re far away, but I tend to agree with your opinion of it. Slavs are a different tribe. Smart though. And mostly fair, but strident, in my limited experience.

The providential background you gave is fascinating. Thanks. That’s stuff I wanted to know.

It seems pretty close to my own suspicions. The KGB was very good at their craft, and under whatever name, still is. Similarly usuns, though sometimes I have my doubts…

Any “club”, even a choir, formed by young men is at least capable of focused violence and discord. In our complex industrial environment no sharp copshop would avoid infiltration…. As to the NW – they get money too, from the budget, or so I think. There ain’t no free lunch.

(I been off rescuing a pair of old metrics from a brother, and I am getting too old for mad-dashes)

  4. Truth Says:

Two punks found guilty for the murder of Paul Anderson.
Not Guilty on the Attempted Murder of Outlaw Jimbo Costa.
No charges for burning down the OL clubhouse.
Snitching! If you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime!
    Especially taking a life!!! Cowards!!!!!!
    Sentencing date TBD
Sentencing dates for the other three are scheduled.
The Informant who was one of the main instigators lives under the witness protection program.
The Stupid Six had or have no idea what a 1%er truly is!!! How they were given patches is beyond me!!!
They were already kicked out rejects from other Clubs!!!
Never trust a club jumper or a fence hopper! It’s one side or the other!!!

  5. BigV Says:

Shovel: The Night Wolves are the Iron Order of the Russian Federation. Putin uses them as paid thugs and lets them slide with popping of their mouths and weapons at US clubs that have setup shop.

They were started/run by a guy called “Dentist”- he was a information specialist for the KGB and then after the fall of USSR disappeared into their underworld. Showed back up as “Dentist” and he and Putin take turns sucking each other off for the media.

It’s ironic- when they came about, they were importing Harleys- had a lot of people over here on the east coast and southeast involved in trucking and import so the cocksuckers could ship HD’s over there.

Then they made a rule that they’re supposed to ride Urals or whatever the state made bike is. So most of their flunkies ride Urals or copies of WW2 BMWs Kraut bikes. “Dentist” and “Butcher” have Harleys and Indians but unless you’re one of their bosses, can’t ride an American bike.

They have a lot in common with the IO: kill people, kill 1%er’s, involved in a lot of shooting and bombings against U.S. originated 1% clubs, and also like the IO they’re state sponsored stooges who sell a lot of drugs and do a lot of drugs.

If they all fell into a wood chipper I would not shed a tear.

  6. Truth Says:

An entire Chapter of STUPID, COWARDS, SNITCHES AND INFORMANTS!
    What an absolute disgrace!!!

  7. Mac Says:

It doesn’t matter where they ship them. GFOD.

  8. Straight Shooter Says:

Whitey was g’mint product way back iin the 1950’s military. Same w/many of those founder’s of 1960’s MC’s. All by chance? And do some of these convicted really go to lock down, or on to another project?

  9. Neuro Says:

They will get shipped off to a neutral or friendly institution.

  10. Retread Says:

They were both convicted today (8/12/2019) in a jury trial in Federal Court in Tampa. Federal time sucks when you’re in close custody and they’re going to get a lot of it.

“…Frankly, as a curated factor in the geopolitical history of Slavic Europe the Biker Clubs make an interesting subject…Maybe the Ivans are indeed an enemy…I study my enemies. I also study friends.”

““Everything was inspired by American clubs…” Kuznetsov explains…“The club was created to fight against the USSR, but in the end we started working with the state.” (hummm.akin to snitching, or endorsement?) Did KGB foster the club to trap dissidents, then realize what they had?”

Shovel says (as if anybody cares): What do you think of Putin’s Night Wolves? Friend or foe? The patches look kinda of old, maybe the old Ivans.

  12. Penguin Says:

Thanks. Group commitment, unit cohesion, is there a difference? Do groups explain this? – as you say, when you put on a patch…any patch.

Frankly, as a curated factor in the geopolitical history of Slavic Europe the Biker Clubs make an interesting subject. Clubs in general do, and the ethics – about killing and talking…the logic and conflict – all that. Maybe the Ivans are indeed an enemy…I study my enemies. I also study friends.

Anyway, with that apology, a quote from some “white propaganda” the Guardian put up> “Everything was inspired by American clubs, even the way we dress,” Kuznetsov explains. “We took the best and reproduced it in our way. The club was created to fight against the USSR, but in the end we started working with the state.” (hummm.akin to snitching, or endorsement?) Did KGB foster the club to trap dissidents, then realize what they had?

There’s a nifty video at the Guardian, take it for whatever it is. At least the images are fascinating. As they say, they took the best we had to offer, the best we had created…maybe they did…and turned it to their own purposes, national re-integration (they say).

People say, sometimes, things about I.O. Are they, like NW “curated”? ( I always doubt, just like I doubt the pimp Epstein’s actually dead)

  13. Wilson Says:

A lot of those 69ers used to be patches and associates of the AoA and BP Motorcycle clubs. Kicked out or left on their own, from their social media presence at the time they were obviously instigating by posting their patch everywhere signing it “sorry Charlie”. Revenge clubs plain and simple never bring anything but wastes of time money and life.

  14. Diane Loyd Says:

So now these 2 ” bikers ” are pointing the finger at each other.
@ penguin good read. I really doubt these geniuses have the attention span to read the whole piece. They are cowards with no honor and no idea what biker brotherhood is all about. They knew when they put the cuts on what the consequences could be.
You going to play with fire you gonna get burnt sometimes and these 2 cocksuckers could not handle the heat. Then they go out like a couple of ninjas and kill a man for nothing. Now they don’t have the balls to have any honor or show some brotherhood. Both pussies are blaming it on his “brother” Cowards and stupid. That is one group that I want nothing to do with. If that is who they let start and belong to chapters they have more issues than the Outlaws.

Apologies, as this does not properly belong here. see> https://www.presstv.com/Detail/2019/08/10/603198/Vladimir-Putin-joins-bikers-for-a-ride-in-Crimea

Yes, they’re nominally “enemies”. Good video. Except for the language they remind me of my old pals (most of whom are gone).

So, back to Rebel’s salon, thanks Paladin. Thanks Rebel. And (apologies again), a scientific paper about the Prisoner’s Dilemma (best to not snitch, but this takes time to learn…etc) Anyway, it seems like it is something a’ll would like to at least take a look at…https://users.econ.umn.edu/~rusti001/Research/DiscussionPapers/Intelligence_PT_RG_112917.pdf

Logic, Ethics, and Morality all align – in the Prisoner’s Dilemma. Neat!

(It’s your house, Rebel, and it seems to be to be a paper you yourself would like to read.)

  16. FF Says:

Once again, my condolences to all who knew and loved Paul Anderson. Fuck the 69ers.

  17. Paladin Says:

    @ Penguin;

It would benefit many to think long and hard before pulling the bell ringer’s rope. For once rung…

  18. Penguin Says:

When a thing is done, acted upon, the actor loses control of the outcome. Actions ought therefore to be considered carefully in advance and evaluated in terms of past occasions and outcomes. Generally we see that killing is apt to attract attention and ethical “review” by unsympathetic people with more guns than anybody else…maybe the fellas didn’t know that. They do now…

“Do no murder” is good advice…(that’s from the Hebrew, killing itself is not forbidden, just problematic.)

Young men are particularly liable to do poorly considered acts.

This is their charm, their curse, and their fate. Sometimes it works out. Usually it goes badly. And of course, “Use every man after his desert, and who should scape whipping?”

Serious mistakes and seriously ill-considered actions can be devastating, as we all know….Fukushima, Chernobyl, JFK…violence in general…

  19. white witch Says:

@ commonsense I think they are just stupid. I doubt if they could use meth as an excuse. Fucktards like these just make the ATF foam at the mouth. They are laughing their ass off, an Outlaw chapter pres. dead and 2 dipshits in jail for the crime all set up by one of their paid informants who started the chapter.
You can’t make this shit up. More front page shit for the general public to see about all the crazy stupid bikers. Just what we need.
Can’t wait to see how Edgar Allen Poe (fayettenam hoe) responds.
Whitey was a pos scumbag rat with no honor or loyalty. He got what he so richly deserved should have happened a long time ago. Just saying.

  20. commonsense Says:

One thing most people don’t know is Whitey Bulger was one click away from being the ultimate gangster. I know people will say he was a rat but I’ll throw a shade a grey on that. Yeah he worked with John Connolly the FBI guy (who was later convicted) but Whitey played the system. Connolly ended up being a gangster with a badge. If that gal in Santa Monica did not recognize him he would probably still be on the 10 most wanted list and free. I don’t idolize the guy..he strangled a 26 year old girl and then took a nap.

  21. Commonsense Says:

I’m going to be politically incorrect here by profiling these guys but meth makes people do stupid things. If your the Pres. you need to stand back and evaluate the consequences of what actions you are about to take.

  22. 1nondescript Says:

By the way…Leonard the c.i. was the guy who got his ass. Beat…at l.b.c.in Palm harbor the night all this shit started ..him and guinto..an iron order reject by the way..both got there patches pulled.that night..so you.do all this and the guy you are getting vegence for is the..M.F..c.i.that rats you..beyond words….

  23. white witch Says:

    Stupid is as stupid does.
Hey let’s go kill a man in broad daylight under a camera riding our own bikes and then let’s go home and call a C.I. and tell him about it. And by the way the younger one is the pres. of the chapter! Should be real easy to recruit new members now.
These guys got their ass kicked in a bar and this how they respond, pussies.
Another snitch in a MC. Sounds like a trend to me. I don’t know which is a bigger pussy the snitch or the 2 who shot a man because he beat their ass. The C I was probably the one who talked them into it. He was there when the Outlaws gave them the beat down. I would bet they will not last long in the Florida prison system.
