The Vago Won

Rudy Zuñiga, a 47-year-old candidate for the Upland, California City Council, described by Upland Police Chief Darren Goodman as a “documented” member of the Vagos Motorcycle Club won his election last Tuesday.

Before the election, Goodman had tried to smear Zuñiga as a “criminal.”

“Vagos are an outlaw motorcycle gang that refer to themselves (sic) as a ‘club,” the chief told the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin. “By definition, they’re a criminal street gang as defined under Penal Code 186.22. Its members go through a prospecting stage where they’re required to commit crimes at the direction of existing members.”

Zuñiga denied that he is now a Vago. He said he left the club five years ago. He has no criminal record.

The voters didn’t care whether he had been a Vago or not.

Zuñiga won Upland District Four with 1,157 votes. Incumbent Councilwoman Carol Timm, who received 1,051 votes. A third candidate, Tammy Rapp, got 390 votes.

The city finished counting the votes Wednesday.

This is the first of many wins for the Vagos Motorcycle Club. 2019 will be a Great Year for the Club

Such a bullshit tactic to lie and say that we’re a criminal street gang, that in order to become a member you have to commit crimes at the behest of existing members… where do they come up with this shit?! Nothing could be further from the truth, we look for solid, dependable people, that are gainfully employed with their shit together, and have a strong sense of good family values… the image and connotations of the drug addicted, street menacing, bug eater is falling by the wayside… they simply don’t make good members and bring zero value to a motorcycle club… we are a group of men that share the common interests of brotherhood, motorcycles & communal family, we ride to each other’s regions and bond over beers, barbecue and stories… enough with the “sons of malarkey” bullshit, the public knows the truth… and in this case embraced that truth over a lying cop and a lying chief cop at that posturing on a government position to further his selfish agenda… congrats Rudy… you deserve it… VLV!!!!

And, I think the title of the story is fine the way it is.

Whoever created the cute urban term just sayin needs a 230 grain for breakfast.

    Viva Los Vagos

  4. moonshiner Says:

If he left the club 5 years prior, then the title of the article is incorrect. Just saying.

    Right on, right on…

To Upland Police Chief Darren Goodman:

You belong to the largest criminal street gang that PC 186.22 was created for. So please sir, politely, go fuck yourself and shut the fuck up.

Rudy Z. ran for office…Rudy Z. won the election ! Now Rudy Z. gets his chance as an elected official to make us proud !

  9. AVAGOVFFV Says:

Dear Corrupt, Regardless of the vote count a win is a win and Rudy won big.

Congratualations Rudy on your victory and new adventures in Upland may your success be spoken about by your critics.

As for Chief Goodman he should have stayed out of the city politics and learned his new roll in the Department and the city. It would have even better he stayed in Chino with the SBSO. He will be nothing more than another politically motivated local government employee sadly the people of Upland lost when the city hired him.

All mouthy law enforement experts and department heads enjoy screaming from the roof tops about PC 186.22 it gets them funding. No villain no funding. PC 186.22 was created with good intent but as with all ideal intentions PC 186.22 has been used in California to punish those for simple membership in a listed group. Who lists those groups? The very guys like Chief Goodman. They lobby the State Attorney and their Deputies to add the selected \ targeted group.

Oddly we have not seen or heard that the Catholic Church is under investigation or has been added to the street terrorism hit list or under RICO either.

    Viva Los Vagos

    Thanks for that.

Man am I sick of this B.S. “belonged to a MC must be horrible, think of the children ” mantra bullshit to discredit someone. Like enough already. Those in Law Enforcement have records and still do, there were guys who were gang members that are in Law Enforcement now.

I have Brothers that have no record, not even a traffic ticket so far in their life. Guys that have legitimate businesses that employ people, hell one brother is even on the program that lets ex cons come and work for them when they are in the half way house, one guys has been his head supervisor for his framing crews for a long while.

That cop waxing about him being an Ex MC member is engaging in nothing more than smear tactics, I wonder what council member that lost his job maybe asked for this favour.

Congrats man, show these fuckers what reliable people in a position of authority can do for the people instead of fucking them over like most politicians do to the citizens

  12. Corrupt Says:

Upland, like most of CA has switched to a district rather than an at-large voting system. Since Zuniga won District 4, you have to figure that at most, only a fourth of the 37,000 voters you estimated (about 9,000) were eligible to vote for him. This means the approximately 2,500 voters represented 25% of the eligible voters. This could be higher if the number of districts is greater than 4.

  13. Phuquehed Says:

At least now the council has less corrupt assholes that the Chief pig of Upland can have do his corrupt bidding.

Fuck you, Goodman, you shit-stain. I hope this comes back somehow to bite you on the ass.

  14. Aanon Says:

Hopefully this isn’t spun into “former motorcycle gang member now redeeming himself” or some sort of such fuckery. Hopefully Mr zuniga is the change that is needed around his parts.

    @ growlingfhardt

If you win….. you just assigned yourself to latrene duty until further notice

I think about the phrase; I am not afraid to die…..

But……… it would not be my first choice

  17. growlingfhardt Says:

This is how we make America great again, and keep it great ! by having honorable, uncorruptible people run for office and be elected. People who won’t bow or bend to political corruption pressures !

  18. Griz's Gal Says:

    Congratulations, Mr. Zuniga! Well done.

Thanks for keeping us updated, Rebel.

It’s good to hear some good news out of the MC world!

  21. Bone Head Says:

The first meeting in the new mayor’s office with the heads of all Upland’s departments ought to be a hoot.

“Hey Chief…how we doing?” I’d love to be a fly on the wall for that!

    Congratulations Mayor Zuniga.

  23. freebird Says:

Now they need to kick Goodman to the curb…..

Very strange he does not understand the concept of profiling

  24. Dasein Says:

Just checking, turns out Upland has a population of some 73,000. Assuming about half of voting age, 37,000, this wasn’t a widely participated election. Still though, of those few who did care about the outcome, Rudy was their favorite, LE smears notwithstanding. There is yet hope for the future of integrity in what’s left of this country, especially the liberal cesspool of my state of California. Congratulations, Mr.Zuniga, please don’t stop there.
