Shawn Roy Fowler of Tooele, Utah, a member of the West Valley Chapter of the Mongols Motorcycle Club, was shot and killed by an unknown assassin as he stood in the breakdown lane on the eastbound 210 freeway, west of the H Street exit in San Bernardino, California just before four a.m. on July 6.
His club brother and riding companion, Paul Lemay was wounded. The crime remains unsolved.
Fowler spent most of his life near Salt Lake City. He was an enthusiastic bodybuilder. He was a member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association for eight years. For the last 14 years he has worked for the Union Pacific Railroad, most recently as a locomotive engineer.
He married his wife, Denean Jan (Harding) Fowler. when he was 19-years-old.
He liked to play the guitar and his survivors remember that he loved to ride his motorcycle and he loved the freedom of the open road. He had just ridden about 635 miles when he died. His wife was with him when he died.
In addition to his wife and his club brothers, Fowler’s passing is mourned by his children, Mitchell, Mikayla, Kelsey and Shontal; his seven grandchildren, Taeley, Zoey, Eisen, Aubryn, Aurora, Tyann and Natalie; his parents; his brothers and sisters and his large, extended family.
Gofundme accounts for both Fowler and Lemay have been established here and here.
Shawn Roy Fowler was just 44 years and three months old. He died in his prime with his boots on.

He sounds like a really decent guy and I’m truly saddened for his kids. No one deserves to be shot down like that. With out getting to into he was not taken out bye who the media,
Cops and public want everyone to believe. Only a few people knew where he was at that exact moment because he texted them and they were not from another team. He had a lot of cops around him but he seemed pretty solid. California is a lot different than Utah and I know it’s naive but I hope to never read or hear about a biker being killed like this. Enough is enough. Only ones that win are the Feds when they go to justify their budgets!!
