Gypsy Jokers Case Goes Federal

A grand jury in the District of Oregon federalized a three-year old murder on June 28 by accusing the Gypsy Jokers Motorcycle Club of being “a criminal organization” that “constituted an enterprise.”

RICO Indictments are the Department of Justice’s quick and easy way to punish criminal defendants when a local prosecutor can’t prove his case. Federal prosecutors have taken over the case from Multnomah County, Oregon which had charged six people with the gruesome murder of an outbad Gypsy Joker named Robert Lee “Bagger Bobby” Huggins.

Since federal prosecutors have unlimited resources, defendants, who are usually impoverished, are disadvantaged when they face federal charges. Federal prosecutors habitually use the tactic against motorcycle club members. More than 90 percent of all federal charges end with plea deals. Ninety percent of defendants who insist on a trial are convicted

The indictment was unsealed last Friday.

Junkie Thief

The defendants in the current federal case are Mark Leroy Dencklau, Earl Devearl Fisher and Tiler Evan Pribbernow

Huggins was a former chapter treasurer who stole club funds to support his heroin habit. He was expelled from the club in 2014. The next year, according to Portland police, Huggins broke into Dencklau’s home, tied Dencklau’s girlfriend to a chair, threatened her with a gun and stole Dencklau’s property. Huggins mutilated body turned up in July 2015.

The affiliation of the defendants and the victim with the Gypsy Jokers gives the Department of Justice an opportunity to characterized Huggins murder as a “conspiracy…in aid of racketeering.” In order to make that sound plausible, the indictment portrays the Gypsy Jokers as racist, sexist, nationalists who scorn every law.

The Criminal Enterprise

“Associates and members follow a written code of conduct,” the indictment argues. “Violations of the code may result in fines, probation, expulsion, a new prospecting period, or acts of violence against the violator.”

“Membership in the GJOMC,” that stands for Gypsy Jokers Outlaw Motorcycle Club (which is calculatedly perjorative and not actually the club’s name), “is available only to men over the age of 21. The GJOMC excludes African Americans, law enforcement officers, homosexuals, and intravenous drug users from membership. Members must own an American made motorcycle.”

“Members of the enterprise and their associates,” the indictment continues, “trafficked in metham-phetamine and marijuana.”

And Huggins was killed, the prosecutors wants everyone to believe, “for the purpose of maintaining and increasing position in the GJOMC, an enterprise engaged in racketeering activity.”

On the face of it, this is a very thin case. The indictment is only nine pages long and more than half of it is spent portraying the Gypsy Jokers as a psychopathic fraternity that exists to enrich “the members and associates of the enterprise through, among other things, murder, extortion, robbery, and distribution of narcotics;” and “preserving and protecting the power, territory, and profits of the enterprise through the use of intimidation, violence, threats of violence, assaults, and murder.”

Anyone that would break into a Joker’s home, tie up his old lady and rip the joint off to support a drug habit. There is no telling how many people had a real good reason to want to get back at such a person. There was likely a long line of people outside the dirtbag’s front door wanting to have an up front and personal chat with the junky.

Yes, that was sardonic humor. Hopefully they were 16 penny.

    Neuro,
What is terrible is that a man would take from his own. Break into a solids home and tie his her up? Maybe just maybe, he earned what he got. Maybe he burnt his dealer and it’s easier to pin it on his ex association. Maybe he liked to shoot foot veins, hence no drywall screws. But definitely these men will be ran through the grinder. Best wishes to them.

It is funny how people go from zero to 60 on this website, on both sides. Reb does indeed have a tendency to lean towards and support the 1% clubs but so what?! He is allowed to!! There are more than enough sites out there dedicated to tearing down the MC world so Reb presents an alternative. To pretend or argue otherwise is ludicrous and makes me doubt the reason of those who do. Reb is indeed biased…..SO WHAT?! I don’t always agree with his POV but I read it and learn something. I don’t take to the comment section to argue an obvious point. Reb is 100% entitled to his opinion and to favor whoever he wants, whether you, me, or anyone else agrees. Go somewhere else for the negative perspective of MC’s, there are plenty out there.

Death is certain, life is not.

That’s not even convincing fiction. Cops use asset forfeiture, speed traps, citations and many other methods to lighten the public wallet. They get away with murder if they are smart enough not to shoot connected, straight-arrow white folks with money. Cops have done hits for the Mafia, other organized criminal outfits and of course their own agenda. Fucktons of documentation from a wide variety of sources mean that’s not up for debate. When they do get popped they often get a wrist slap for crimes any of us would do hard time for.

“Secret files obtained by BuzzFeed News reveal that from 2011 to 2015 at least 319 New York Police Department employees who committed offenses serious enough to merit firing were allowed to keep their jobs.

    https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/kendalltaggart/secret-nypd-files-hundreds-of-officers-committed-serious

Many of the officers lied, cheated, stole, or assaulted New York City residents. At least fifty employees lied on official reports, under oath, or during an internal affairs investigation. Thirty-eight were found guilty by a police tribunal of excessive force, getting into a fight, or firing their gun unnecessarily. Fifty-seven were guilty of driving under the influence. Seventy-one were guilty of ticket-fixing. One officer, Jarrett Dill, threatened to kill someone. Another, Roberson Tunis, sexually harassed and inappropriately touched a fellow officer. Some were guilty of lesser offenses, like mouthing off to a supervisor.”

Not only is Officer Friendly dead, he got snuffed by his “brothers” like they tried to do to Frank Serpico. Kinda hard to be a white knight with a spear in your back.

Ed (et al): You’re getting romped on here, and justifiably so. IMHO Rebel always presents us with if not detailed information, as good a synopsis as possible, of what’s transpired, with as much impartiality as he can. Listen to the judge in the above clip. He cannot refuse bail on the one hand, and appears conflicted on the other (“many moving parts”). What this looks like to us, the regular reader here, is yet another blatant attempt on the part of the LE In this case the FEDS) to scrape together a case with no real evidence except a preponderance of “biker bashing” clichés, to try and sway a jury to convict. There doesn’t seem to be any real evidence presented. Sure. Maybe the GJ COULD have done it, in the nature of retribution, but where’s the smoking gun? You sound like a cop to me, or someone with a hard-on for bikers, and an ax of your own to grind. If you read even a tenth of the back articles on this page, you’ll find example after example of LE attempting to convict without real evidence, simply a desire to prosecute and persecute patch holders simply for BEING patch holders. As far as “top bullies” “owning” your ass, that isn’t so. I think you’ve been spoon-fed the SOA tv drama drivel, or it’s what you choose to believe, cuz you want to. Clubs weed out any leaders that attempt hostile takeovers, or try to BE bullies.
Frankly Ed, I don’t think you have a clue.

    @ Sled Tramp;

I was recently informed by a friend that I have yet to meet, of the passing of an individual that was a friend of his that had been locked away in solitary confinement for many years. The note I wrote to my friend pretty much sums up my thoughts on freedom, the world we now live in and life on the outlaw motorcycle frontier. My note to my friend is as follows:

“Unfortunately; we’re all sentenced to live in a world where what is right isn’t always legal and what is legal isn’t always right. When you live as a free man, it’s easy to get crossed up in a system that allows the truly evil to get away with what they do. The current state of our country is a textbook example.”

Number 1. The reality of 1%er clubs seemed to get smoothed over here and on that Insane Biker shit. 2. Anyone that has been close or in as a member know the reality. Here is the reality, they do wrong, they break the law; Far as what is seen from the outside; God damn smoke and mirrors. Join a club and find out. The top bullies own your ass; Period. You will sign over every god damn thing you own. Period. Your life is not your own anymore. Sick of the shit that these bully assed fuckers don’t break the law; Then when they get busted sites like this try to portray they were singled out because they are “bikers” Fuckin’ bullshit. Ain’t like the cops go outa their way to fuck with folks that ain’t breaking the law. I would expect them to be the big bad assed motherfuckers they are playing to be and man the fuck up and deal with it.

  27. Neuro Says:

@Penguin: I suppose if you speak of more than one member together, the s would indicate plural. I agree with all you said, especially the final clause. I should have just left it to them to comment, not my place to say. There have been a lot of people from the public coming here and they don’t know any of it, but not my place to say. Sorry, I too don’t want to offend.

@ Neuro… The terms in this case, in ordinary spoken and casual written (and admittedly imprecise) American English are interchangeable. However I am happy to know what you have said… Next time I visit Oz I shall keep your correction in mind. I wouldn’t want to offend anybody. I understand that the indictment itself named the club incorrectly – now that’s interesting. It creates the basis for appeal, though it would not work, would it? Perhaps the Feds will now attempt to prosecute the club in Oz as well, or perhaps just murder them, like they do anybody they want to.

Isn’t the club in the pacific Northwest called Gypsy Joker MC ? No s. I think the one called Jokers with an s is in Australia.

Here in South Africa they use an “s” but I do believe there is no affiliation to any other M.C anywhere (we have a few clubs that share a well known name and sport a different centre patch entirely)
