The Way We Were

IN CONGRESS, July 4, 1776.

The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America,

When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, –That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.–Such has been the patient sufferance of these Colonies; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former Systems of Government. The history of the present King of Great Britain is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world.

He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.

He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.

He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.

He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.

He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.

He has refused for a long time, after such dissolutions, to cause others to be elected; whereby the Legislative powers, incapable of Annihilation, have returned to the People at large for their exercise; the State remaining in the mean time exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within.

He has endeavoured to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, and raising the conditions of new Appropriations of Lands.

He has obstructed the Administration of Justice, by refusing his Assent to Laws for establishing Judiciary powers.

He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.

He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance.

He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures.

He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power.

He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:

For Quartering large bodies of armed troops among us:

For protecting them, by a mock Trial, from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States:

For cutting off our Trade with all parts of the world:

For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent:

For depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of Trial by Jury:

For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offences

For abolishing the free System of English Laws in a neighbouring Province, establishing therein an Arbitrary government, and enlarging its Boundaries so as to render it at once an example and fit instrument for introducing the same absolute rule into these Colonies:

For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws, and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments:

For suspending our own Legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever.

He has abdicated Government here, by declaring us out of his Protection and waging War against us.

He has plundered our seas, ravaged our Coasts, burnt our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people.

He is at this time transporting large Armies of foreign Mercenaries to compleat the works of death, desolation and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of Cruelty & perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy the Head of a civilized nation.

He has constrained our fellow Citizens taken Captive on the high Seas to bear Arms against their Country, to become the executioners of their friends and Brethren, or to fall themselves by their Hands.

He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages, whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions.

In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.

Nor have We been wanting in attentions to our Brittish brethren. We have warned them from time to time of attempts by their legislature to extend an unwarrantable jurisdiction over us. We have reminded them of the circumstances of our emigration and settlement here. We have appealed to their native justice and magnanimity, and we have conjured them by the ties of our common kindred to disavow these usurpations, which, would inevitably interrupt our connections and correspondence. They too have been deaf to the voice of justice and of consanguinity. We must, therefore, acquiesce in the necessity, which denounces our Separation, and hold them, as we hold the rest of mankind, Enemies in War, in Peace Friends.

We, therefore, the Representatives of the united States of America, in General Congress, Assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the Name, and by Authority of the good People of these Colonies, solemnly publish and declare, That these United Colonies are, and of Right ought to be Free and Independent States; that they are Absolved from all Allegiance to the British Crown, and that all political connection between them and the State of Great Britain, is and ought to be totally dissolved; and that as Free and Independent States, they have full Power to levy War, conclude Peace, contract Alliances, establish Commerce, and to do all other Acts and Things which Independent States may of right do. And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.

    You fellas remember when “liberal” and “biker” meant more or less “good” ? Like, man, people used to disapprove, but then say “It’s a free country”? I haven’t heard That firawhile…

    That’s to say that the Constitution was pretty much a set a limits on what the Man could do…and so most of what is “illegal” now was legal… (it still is, they’re simply lying because the power is with Them (for the moment)).

    Anyway…I remember Justice…and this cat:

    The way we were… Most Americans are miss-informed about much of our own history – and that’s not accidental. Partly we’re busy living, partly busy making a living, and schools teach what’s pretty much simply not true. They have been running a TBS job on us for many years.

    But some men know their history. One such man, a stand-up guy, says true things. That’s Paul Craig Roberts, Oxford (and elsewhere) educated, mature, a Southerner, and formerly assistant sec of the Treasury.

    Here’s an essay he’s done on who and what

    It’s a fairly long job, with the best parts nearer the end…that the time. It’s well worth it.

    Sample: “…It was Reconstruction that ruined relations between blacks and whites in the South. The North stuffed blacks down the throats of the defeated South. Blacks were placed in charge of Southern governments in order to protect the Northern carpet baggers who looted and stole from the South. The occupying Union Army encouraged the blacks to abuse the Southern people, especially the women, as did the Union soldiers. The Klu Klux Klan arose as a guerrilla force to stop the predations. Robert E. Lee himself said that if he had realized how rapacious the North would prove to be, he would have led a guerrilla resistance….”

    A top advisor to the Vatican, Jeffery Sachs, says Jesuit Pope Francis will directly challenge the “American idea” of God-given rights in the Declaration of Independence.
    Sachs is also a special advisor to the U.N. and director of the Earth Institute at Columbia University.

    He ridiculed the U.S. as “a society in thrall” to the outmoded idea of unalienable rights to life, liberty, the the pursuit of happiness. He says Jesuit Francis will urge that “the path to happiness lies NOT solely or MAINLY through the defense of rights but through the exercise of virtues, most notably justice and charity”.

    Translation: the RCC possesses the right to kill you, make you a slave and make you very, very,un-happy while alive. Via 1600 years of wealth accumulation(read:power), through theft, false heaven attainment by way of PAYED for prayers, business corporation ownership and investment profits, the RCC has the big balls to speak AGAINST inalienable rights, ridicule everyone in the U.S. and THEN, have the arrogance to tell you how to be happy! Incredible.

    Sachs believes, “individual rights must be sacrificed for the greater good,” a TYPICAL Roman Catholic mantra.

    How we are now:
    “The Trump administration said Trump’s office would worry less ‘where the church-state barriers are’, allowing government-religious partnerships to function ‘without all of these arbitrary concerns as to what is appropriate'”.

    If the past track record of church-state gov. court persecutors, judges, and pigs framing, railroading, stealing bikes and crushing defendants is THE example of Vatican church-state partnership “virtues of justice and charity”, we’re fucked.

    I wish I had something profound to add to this discussion, and perhaps I do. Except for the fact that I cannot articulate it in this here and now.

    More times that not I have failed in past attempts and only accomplished pissing people off.

    Sometimes I think there is a path to narrow it all down— and thus cut down on the confusion and misunderstanding. Maybe this is it, maybe it’s not

    At the very least, let it take you out of whatever agony or torment you find yourself in today. For me that’s a victory, a battle won, in a world filled with necessary dichotomies; Life and Death, good and evil… In that is harmony.

    Regarding the mistrial of Jake Carrazil: Ms. Gotro had very little if anything to do with Jake Carrazil’s mistrial. The individual juror that caused the mistrial and kept the jurors from reaching a unanimous verdict on any of the charges had an ax to grind with the Cossacks. she would have voted “not guilty” regardless.

    If the Twin Peaks superseding charges, which include three murder counts, in addition to first-degree and second-degree riot charges are allowed to stand, I think because of their specificity they will be easier to defend against with a defense based on the laws of of self defense. The original charge of engaging in organized criminal activity as members of criminal street gangs is a charge cloaked in the fog of ambiguity and may be harder to defend against.

    If you can no longer ride, may you at the very least travel in peace. I will always give you the road.

    I read Freebird’s comment. Used to, you had to go through the older comments to get to the new. I’m glad I got here tonight to see it before it got buried among others- no offense to anyone else who comments later. I read yours and I thought- “Damn, wonder how many more of us can count the times our United States Federal Government, our individual state governments, and our local governments have done the same damn thing the Brits did ?”

    There was a guy on here I think of often. He was an early supporter and reader of Rebel’s work. His name was Jabba(UK Dave Rip Died Trying 1% CA GBNF). Jabba was from the UK. There was a period of about 9 months where Rebel didn’t post. He was finishing the book that has become a samizdat tome in law schools, economics, sociology, and some psychology course. At the same at time, Jabba and I would talk via email and here. He and I did the standard limey v. colonist bullshit once, I wish I had kept the email. The end was that we both agreed just about any “free” country kept their boot on the neck of their citizens- Canadian, British, United States, where ever.

    When Rebel came back, the tone of this newspaper changed. Rebel had changed. Rebel probably had every offense listed above in the declaration done to him to finish the book about how Ivan transitioned into Black Rain which has transitioned into the never-ending daily fresh hell we see documented here.

    There are a lot of us who have paid prices to live this life- some a few years, some a few careers, some end up stove up, some end up with brain damage, some end up serving life sentences for shit the state fully admits the defendant did not do, but because of their lack of an existing Alford Plea system, and the fact the defendant did not want to put his daughter and his club through the same hell- he stayed in prison on a life sentence. “The Sheik of Atlanta” told me- you wanna be us, there are two ways this shit ends- death or prison.

    He wasn’t kidding.

    The bottom line is that no form of freedom is free. You have no freedom unless you want to pay a high price.

    Don’t forget that Rebel has, is, and will pay some pretty high prices for what he’s writing for us.

    One last thing, on the Internet, you’ve got to assume you’re talking to a dog. It may say it’s a 1%er like “Vince 1%” with the V for Valour, it may say it’s a pig familiar with Black Biscuit(hey Jay how you doing, still shaming your kid to make yourself feel better for being a shitty parent ?).

    Paladin has always said he never “made” a case to make a case and “jammed” up one of our kinfolk, and that if someone fucked up- we THEY fucked up, he just had the job of being LE. He’s a dog who’s always said he’s a dog. Paladin: you’ve always thought I’ve motherfucked you for continually asking “Are you Robert Ford” and me saying “can’t trust anyone who’s taken the side of the system, taken their succor, traded a little bit of their liberty for a little more security, who has taken on the role to believe they are the proper authority”. I’ve done a lot of thinking on that- did s*e go for a mistrial so that case would look worse on Bandit Big John and Pike ? Why not take free help from an expert witness.

    I’ve wondered a lot of things lately. Will Big John ever see another 4th ? How much longer can the Aging Rebel continue to make sure the general community knows what fresh hell the government wreaks on from unbiased perspective that stays out of club business, but most assuredly goes towards “us” seeing another 4th ?

    PS to any jury member anywhere: the federal government will have you believe that anyone who is a club motorcyclist(there is no real 1%er conferderation, there is no outlaw motorcycle (insert anything here)) is like a fighting dog ready to kill another club motorcyclist at any time. That’s an outright lie. We share space, we talk to each other, we work in virtually* every walk of life, we have families, we don’t celebrate when another patch holder gets killed, that’s one less free man. We have our lore, it is part of our culture. Around 1990-1991 it was en vogue to study native Appalachians as a disappearing and dying culture- because it was, and because some nice lady released “American Hollow” on HBO. That died out when people(celebrities academics, journalists, lawmakers) saw that Appalachia and the Ozarks wasn’t a living breathing version of Dog Patch with a Lil Abner in every corner- the mountains and the mountain folk have their warts- 242 years later we still burn barns, shoot at bad neighbors, grow a garden with just enough to eat, and keep a still with just enough white liquor to make “cough medicine” through the winter, and we rarely throw things away- prefering a scrap pike to salvage parts from. You may find that endearing, you may find that disgusting and lazy. The club motorcyclist life has its warts- but not the warts the government wants you to believe in, not the warts that Kurt Sutter and FX sold you for 9 years. We have some of the same problems that America does, we have some of the same problems the world does. We love our families, we bleed for each other. That’s the real truth. The life of club motorcyclist is the last true ritual life celebration of freedom, dedicated to freedom. Yes, we may have idiots that need kicked out for doing stupid things, but our MC’s don’t do stupid things, not every man in the MC does a stupid thing. Figure out a different way to go after Eric Rudolph and abortion clinic bombers and businessmen whose businesses are illegal(ie the mob, the outfit, corner boys, real GANGSTERS). Get rid of RICO or I surely promise you that someday RICO will see the twilight of your tribe.

    Goddamn pleasure know each and every one of you. I’m going back to my tater patch and still now.

    Was breaking in my new Harley bagger riding to Vegas that May at the time of the massacre

    Lots of news stateside but not much coverage north of the 49th

    When back home followed up on the massacre i came across the Aging Rebel blog

    Since then have had to read your posts and the comments

    What has happened to the US Constitution etc

    6th amendment etc

    Timely and unbiased trials

    Seems these issues
    dont get much attention

    Keep informing please
