Bandidos, Bandidos Everywhere

A controversy over “honoring” the Bandidos Motorcycle Club erupted last week in the small Fort Worth suburb of White Settlement.

For years, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has proclaimed May, which in northern states is the first full month of the motorcycle riding season, to be National Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month. It is a rarely controversial gesture to keep motorcyclists alive and well. Every May, local politicians – city councils, boards of selectmen, county commissioners, governors, mayors – invite local motorcycle activists to stop in for a photo opportunity. Most of these activists belong to some biker affinity group like a motorcycle club or a riding group. It is always very benign.

Two weeks ago, the City Council of White Settlement did just that. Mayor Ronald White read a proclamation declaring May to be Motorcycle Awareness Month. One man in a black shirt, eleven men and one woman dressed in black, leather vests and two children, one of whom wore a black vest, posed with the proclamation for the usual photo.

Dave Mann

A week after that, last Tuesday, two days before the third anniversary of the Twin Peaks Mass Murder and the day the jury in the Bandidos trial in San Antonio began deliberating, a White Settlement Councilman named Dave Mann – who also happens to be a Tarrant County sheriff’s deputy, made a splash by noisily resigning from the council because White Settlement, he said, had “honored” the “Bandidos Motorcycle Gang.” Considering the extent to which both Waco and the Bandidos trial have been propagandized, the timing was probably not coincidental.

“It is a sad day when city officials invite violent criminal street gangs into our city who thrive on selling heroin, marijuana, methamphetamine and other narcotics and promote prostitution, human trafficking, gun trafficking, murder and other criminal activities,” Mann explained. His alarmist words were repeated all over Texas.

Mann thinks White Settlement is a sister city with Sodom and Gomorrah. He thinks motorcycle safety awareness month is symptomatic of the city’s “serious moral problems” including prostitution and “narcotics.”

Just Read The Words

Mayor White reacted predictably. He told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, “I really don’t understand anything about motorcycle clubs or gangs as I am not around that so I don’t really know.”

“I just read (the proclamations). don’t know anything about Bandidos. I see people wearing leather jackets and all kinds of patches; I can’t tell one from the other.”

As it turns out, as the photo taken at the time clearly showed, Deputy/Councilman Mann was just running his mouth. There wasn’t a Bandido there. The groups represented in the photo were the Chula Chasers; Undesirables Riding Club; Los Vagabundos Motorcycle Club; Los Extranos Riding Club; Rough Riders Motorcycle Club; Cowboys From Hell Motorcycle Club; Honor Bound Motorcycle Ministry; and Turning Point USA.

Mann still sees criminals because some of the participants were wearing the colors red and yellow and some of them decorated their vests with the number “13,” which Mann thinks makes them marijuana or methamphetamine dealers.

A special election to replace Mann will cost about $20,000.

    Re Rojas,

    You just reinforced my point.
The media narrative in Portland Oregon is that OMCs are a mafia that run all of the stripper joints which Portland is renown for. The Oregonian which covered up the Neil Goldshit scandal has told us all about it. One can observe young women coming out of stripper joints and getting on the back of a Harley that is driven by a 3 piece patch. May be it is just some dude taking his wife or daughter to work? May be it is stripper Ubber? Perhaps given the fact that Oregonians voted overwhelmingly to elect a child molester to be governor they have no right to make presumptions.

    @ James W Crawford

A little perspective is in order here. Like the deputy you seem to have a distorted view. As far as recruiting strippers in Texas and beyond, try RCI Hospitality Holdings, Inc.

    RE Aaonon,

I know they are getting railroaded. I was just jesting while suggesting that screwing around with spelling might complicate prosecutions.

I come here not even as a 99%er much less a 1% primarily concerned about gun rights and the police paranoia incited by the antigun propaganda. I saw it coming way back in the early 1990s.

OMCs are far from pristine but I see no evidence to justify the stereotype of motorcycle mafia running guns, drugs and prostitute s. The only thing close is the recruiting of young girls to work at strip clubs which SEEMS to be related to OMCs. However; former Mayor of Portland, Transportation Secretary and Governor Neil Gildshmidt was infamous for raping his 13 year old baby sitter. The media and political establishment don’t have a problem with that so why prosecute OMCs?

The standards used to prosecute OMC officers under RICO could and should be used to prosecute The Knights of the Pythians.

Goes to prove the old adage that in Fort Worth the only unforgivable social crime is to overdress.
I suspect this Mann fellow must not be from around here. You didn’t have to graduate from a cow college to know that M is for the mudflaps you give me for my pickup truck.

    @ Aanon

    Spot on…..

And that one chance their wrong, holy shit we have a new indictment for spell check!

  6. Aanon Says:

Crawford, they are getting fucking railroaded. No rearranging of letters is going to get dismissals.

  7. James W Crawford Says:

    RIDER 1
you do realize that simply misspelling the name of a club in court documents would be grounds to dismiss a case?

  8. david Says:

Coincidentally, Mann’s public and media promoted statement against MC members contains the same mischaracterization, demonization, lies and hate the invading Europeans had for prospering North American natives who were genocided, and STILL being genocided.

  9. david Says:

So White Settlement employee Mann(read: Pig-Mann) didn’t like the things other city council members did and then resigned. One less pig in a public legislative office. Can only hope he resigns his sheriff’s deputy position.

What a complete and utter waste of my good air and a little bitch to boot. Hey, Mann…go test the warning label on a plastic bag, you useless fuck.

  11. Igo Says:

I will say that whatever law enforcement decided to title every bike club “Criminal street gang” has done well. It’s now a catch-all phrase for every LE throughout the land. My own hometown force (and in this area, these cops have never ever SEEN a 1% come through town) they keep regurgitating the term Ad Nauseam. I’t like a bad movie and you can’t reach the TV to turn it off, except it’s not a movie……..

  12. RIDER 1 Says:

@ James W. Crawford, I think you could evade being so fucking annoying if you would shut the fuck up.

Holy shit the stupidity is a fungus

  14. freebird Says:

So he he saying if a Red & Gold Supporter finds him in a ditch trapped in a burning vehicle we should just get back on our horse and ride off?

  15. James W Crawford Says:

I still think that the club could evade a lot of trouble by changing the spelling from “Bandidos” to “Banditos”and alter the Fat Mexican so he is holding a bag of corn chips. It would confuse the hell out of prosecutos.

No question in my mind, if reincarnation is real, Mann likely was a Nazi Death Camp guard. How many outstanding lawsuits are out there by every day citizens suing MCs over assault having been beat up or even murdered? How many cases are pending with cops unlawfully beat up a citizen and/or murdering some of them? Many! Many of such assaults are from cops doing illegal drugs too, Roid Rage. What a spoilt brat Mann is, he doesn’t care if his sissy fit cost taxpayers 20 grand, because he doesn’t respect how hard “real working people” work to pay that money in taxes. This jack off is the kind of person every parents fears will con their daughters and then treat them like shit and keep on treating them like shit where they are afraid to leave. How many cops beat their wives and girlfriends?

  17. TX_Biker Says:

I have been to proclamations, I wear gold and red as a support club member and nothing like this has happened here in the past few weeks. Just a bit of grandstanding eh? Then there is this; “It is a sad day when city officials invite violent criminal street gangs into our city who thrive on selling heroin, marijuana, methamphetamine and other narcotics and promote prostitution, human trafficking, gun trafficking, murder and other criminal activities,” First Heroin is verboten and will get you in a shitstorm you can’t even imagine, as for marijuana, methamphetamine and other narcotics and promote prostitution, human trafficking, gun trafficking, murder and other criminal activities, I have never seen it, heard of it or had anyone to ask me to help with it in the 10 years I have been riding here. I have been told I must have a Job, legal motorcycle, insurance, MC endorsement on my license etc and never do anything to bring trouble to my club brothers. I still can’t believe the sheep that passed for a jury in the fed case didn’t call BS on the feds. But guess what, Red and Gold is still here and not going anywhere so what did they really accomplish besides putting a good man in jail to boost their careers and budgets…

  18. Paladin Says:

“A special election to replace Mann will cost about $20,000.” In the long run, money well spent. Now; if Mann would do the residents of Tarrant County a public service by resigning from the sheriff’s department, that would really be great.
