Do It Again

Abelino Reyna, the McLennan County Texas District Attorney with the courtroom manner of an infomercial salesman, announced today that his strategy for winning the Twin Peaks case is to do the same thing over and over until he gets s different result.

Reyna, just spent 30 months prosecuting Dallas Bandido Christopher Jacob Carrizal for conspiring to murder nine people, conspiring to wound 18 more and leading a criminal street gang “exactly like the Bloods and the Crips.” The prosecution sort of culminated in a five-week-long trial that ended with a hung jury. Multiple reports after the jury was dismissed said that about nine of the jurors were in favor of acquittal. During deliberations, the jury foreman told Judge Matt Johnson that the jurors who insisted on a conviction refused to consider the evidence presented in the case.

Carrizal’s Crimes

That evidence proved that members of the Cossacks Motorcycle Club ambushed Carrizal and others as they tried to park near the Twin Peaks restaurant in order to attend a political meeting and that the Bandidos had no practical means of escape. The prosecution spent more than three weeks attempting to convince the jury that Carrizal got up that morning with a guilty mind knowing that the Cossacks were going to try to kill him, his father and his uncle but he rode his motorcycle to Waco anyway because he is stupid and arrogant.

Bandidos, biker gang experts argued for a week, are famous the world over for their stupidity, arrogance and their menacing bumper stickers which is the principal reason the prosecutors expected the jury to hate Bandidos in general and Carrizal in particular. Carrizal was, according to prosecutors Michael Jarrett, Amanda Dillon, Brody Burks and Reyna, entirely too confidant and unafraid. Good Americans, real Americans, should wake up afraid and the ones who wake up confidant deserve to be taught a lesson.

In hindsight, it is now obvious that two or three jurors thought Carrizal should have been taught a lesson before they heard any evidence in the case.

Reyna Expects Victory

Yesterday, Reyna announced that he thinks that he can assemble an entire jury comprised of people who should be disqualified for cause. He told television station KWTX that the trial was a “draw” and refused to be discouraged by anything as arbitrary and arguable as reality.

“When this all started I knew that this is going to be a big fight, a tough fight, I’ve always known that,” Reyna told Waco, Temple and Killeen’s “Weather and News Authority.”

Reyna said, “We received some very valuable information from the jury, I think that information that we can utilize to make the case even stronger and we can keep moving forward.”

The trial is currently scheduled to begin on April 2, 2018. A motion hearing in the case is scheduled for March 16, 2018.
