Baker Found Guilty

This story was published on June 10 and corrected on June 12, 2017 as follows: The original story identified Karl Twilleager, who allegedly conspired to bomb a bar frequented by Bandidos in Spanaway, Washington as a member of the same Ghost Riders Motorcycle Club to which Geoffrey Brady belonged. In fact Twilleager belonged to a completely different Ghost Riders Motorcycle Club. The Aging Rebel regrets the error and apologizes for it.

Late Yesterday, a jury in Fort Worth found Howard Wayne Baker guilty of the murder of Geoffrey Brady in a bar called Gator’s Jam Inn on December 12, 2014.

At least at the time, Baker was alleged to be the president of a Fort Worth chapter of the Bandidos Motorcycle Club. Brady was a member of the Ghost Riders Motorcycle Club. Reportedly, he was present at a meeting that included members of the Wino’s Crew Motorcycle Club and Cossacks Motorcycle Club.

Some History

The Wino’s Crew was implicated in a shoot out with members of the Boozefighters Motorcycle Club in Hollister, California on July 6, 2014 in which three Boozefighters were injured. Both of those clubs claim to have been founded by William “Wino Willie” Forkner in the All American Bar in Los Angeles in 1946, Forkner died in 1997.

The Cossacks were participants in multiple, violent incidents with members of the Bandidos that culminated in a gunfight at the Twin Peaks restaurant in Waco, Texas on May 17, 2015.

The Ghost Riders are generally regarded as a mostly pacific, independent club that has sometimes had a tense relationship with the Bandidos during the decades of the two clubs’ shared history.

Territorial Dispute

The government’s theory in the case against Baker was that Baker had planned and led an invasion of the bar that led to Brady’s murder. He did that, the government alleges, because of a territorial dispute among those four clubs in which the Bandidos claimed to be the preeminent motorcycle club in Texas.

During the trial, a Texas Department of Public Safety motorcycle gang expert named Devin Gonzales told the jury that the Bandidos try to intimidate other motorcycle clubs. “They ride around in their cuts and let the other gangs know who is in charge,” Gonzales testified.

The jury believed him. Baker will be sentenced Tuesday. He faces life in prison.

  2. Old Crow Says:

    @ed,
You sir are obviously a grown idiot. Red and Gold are standup Men in the Motorcycle Community and they help and support 100’s of motorcycle clubs across Texas and many other states. Just ask those clubs dickweed! All those clubs in Waco and around the state are friends with the Bandidos as well as all the idependants. The cuntsucks were trying to get those other 2 fags clubs to join them at the dance. You cant be something aint – now look at what has happened. You start shit and then blame the group that YOU started the shit with. Sounds like your an obama supporter. The Bandits are now stronger and more solidified than ever, just look around. The cocksucks have shrunk to less than 100 and when the 60 plus and supporters get finished in Waco, you will be able to buy those tarnished vests at garage sale. They destroyed their club following big o and the 1st cossack that sings (hint) will walk and the rest will be using plastic dinner wear for 20 years and waiting in line for the phone. The Bandits will continue to grow and strive with better and smarter members. Texas !oves the myth and stories of the Bandidos and no other club will be embraced as they are. So fuck off you wanna be shit talker or better yet, go say something to a Bandit directly.

The real crime is how you can be found guilty of murder without the prosecution proving murder beyond a reasonable doubt. Probably a preview of the Waco trials once they start…but I hope not.
The few times I’ve talked to Drifter(Baker), he was always cordial and polite. A gentleman to say the least. This is what I have come to expect from The Bandidos and their support clubs. They promote club unity. Not division like we see other places.
The Texas MC landscape is changing, for sure. Now we have to deal with the “Pop-up”, so-called “1%” clubs that are taking advantage of the situation. Hopefully, we can avoid becoming a divided state like California. I like being able to ride all across the state with no hassle.

  4. Charlie O Says:

I knew Geoff Brady. He was soft spoken, easy going man. Did not deserve this. Good that some justice was meted out. Hey, what’s up Wade. Missed seeing you folks when I down that way in April.

  5. TX_Biker Says:

Rider 1 hit it. Red and Gold will always be here. Anyone who has ever lived where there are multiple 1%er clubs knows that it’s a very different atmosphere than here in Texas. If you ride here and live here you should be grateful for all the crap the Bandidos go through to keep it that way.

  6. Not Surprised Says:

    @ Rocco151

statistically speaking, the chance of earning a full patch in one of the few real 1% clubs is slightly less than that of being appointed to presidential protection detail in the Secret Service. No pop up club will ever understand that.

  7. Dutchboy Says:

Damn, sorry to read this. BTW “Ed” love’m or hate’m the Red and Gold are a stand up crew, same as most of the 1%ers out there. Are there some turds in the punch bowl? Sure, but most clubs are good at fishing them out and flushing them away. Is that what happened to you Eddie? Wash out or never even got asked to the dance? Regardless of the patch you wear (or Don’t wear), what crew you support or despise, NO ONE should be happy when a man is convicted like this. Best of luck on his appeal and as better men have said before, “respect for those who deserve it”.

  8. Neuro Says:

    Thanks for your input Knuckles.

  9. Gandalf Says:

I’m wondering why everyone in that bar wasn’t arrested for Organized Crime. I guess the Ft Worth DA didn’t think He had a case.
I hate to 2nd guess Lawyers but these days leaving a case rest without a fight might be Ill-advised. There was a time when it could be done but the MSM has made it hard for juries to consider people Innocent until PROVEN Guilty. IMHO ya gotta fight the Org Crime/Gang/RICO Law as well as the facts of the case. That’s just IMHO. Sorry about your friend Rider 1. Looks like soon I will owe you a dollar deposited in Rebels account.
    Y’all have my Respects

  10. Wade Smith AKA Knuckles Texas Ghostrider Says:

First of all the Texas Ghostriders are not and have never been associated with ANY ghostriders on the west coast! Second of all I was at Gators and we were just bar hopping. No meeting was being done. Third the Texas Ghostrider was formed in 1961 in Southlake Texas and we have always flown a Texas bottom rocker. We start no shit but will protect ourselves and our loved ones with ferocity. If you are going to report on something or tell a story, at least understand what it is that you speak of. Sincerely Knuckles, Texas Ghostrider.

  11. John t Cokos Says:

The dues for Club membership are high, early death or you spend the rest of your remaing years in a Federal lockup. SOMEBODY shot BRADY…. Surprised that the Ghost Riders were in the mix on this. Not so surprised that Wino’s Crew was on board. And the Boozefighters, WTF is up with that ?

  13. rocco151 Says:

    @ Not Surprised

Very well stated…and when the man with such beliefs joins a group with matching ideals that group continues to be a force and gets even stronger !

  14. RIDER 1 Says:

@ Ed, Baker is a good man, something you would know if you had met him. You coming on here and talking shit about something you know nothing about is disrespectful and getting old. You seem to have a beef with the Bandidos but don’t seem to know the first thing about them. The Bandidos ARE the major club in TX and will ALWAYS be the major club in TX. All these start ups and clubs that have been in the closet for years are only now acting up because of the FED investigations. Trust me the investigations will eventually end and the Bandidos will be stronger than ever! Go ahead and crawl back under your bridge, class dismissed.

    RIDER 1

  15. Not Surprised Says:

A man who has no fear of losing everything because of his beliefs is the most dangerous man in the world

  16. Paladin Says:

    @ Ed,

You know Bandidos? Somehow, I find that rather hard to believe.

    Paladin

  17. tiopirata Says:

Ed you disrespectful troll, you know nothing about us and just proved it.
    Fuck off.
    Rebel, thank you as always.

  18. Ed Says:

They are what they say they aren’t. Time to pay the dues. Hope they take better care of him than most Bandidos I know that went to the joint. Brotherhood my ass. Folks are getting tired of them.

  19. non association Says:

this comment is for editor of aging rebel, I wonder if you could draw a cartoon of the fed DA (Durbin) pulling strings of Waco DA and the Waco DA (Reyna) pulling strings of judge Sparks and judge Johnston and judge Strothers. and a couple of strings going to judge sparks from the Fed DA.I won’t comment on this incident.

Thank you for all you do
