Sponsors Who Drink And Shoot

Billy Lee McDaniel, a prospect who was thisclose to patching with the Southern Sons Motorcycle Club, died ironically Sunday night in the parking lot outside the Rock Harley Saloon in Land O’ Lakes, Florida near Tampa.

According to numerous reports, McDaniel was holding a plastic bucket on top of his head while an unspecified number of patched brothers tried to throw drinks and beers into the bucket. It seems safe to assume that everybody had had a few before the game started. The point of the game seems to have been to soak the new brother down. And, he may have been unusually good at catching drinks with a bucket held over his head.

So, apparently one member of the Southern Sons named Jeffrey Camarda, photo above, resolved to put a hole in the bucket. Camarda drew his pistol and fired. He missed and struck McDaniel in the head.

Camarda, who is 44 and who had no previous criminal record, panicked and fled.

McDaniel, who was also 44, was flown to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point where doctors tried to save him and he lingered before he died,

Last night, police spotted Camarda in the parking lot of a Big Lots store near the intersection of State Road 54 and U.S. 41 on the southern boundary of Land O’ Lakes. He was arrested and charged with manslaughter and he is now being held on $250,000 bail.

Actually sounds more like some stupid shit pigs do at the precinct, only instead of a bucket full o beer, there’s a plunger and some crisco.

  2. Centurion Says:

Ashame that they call themselves Southern sons. Sounds more like stupid yankee activities.

  3. Paladin Says:

I’m reminded of the old adage, “When you pull a gun, you open a door and you damn well better be ready for what’s on the other side.”

Condolences and sincere sympathies to the McDaniels Family as well as this friends and Club Brothers. First and foremost this is a tragic turn of events and death visited on anyone is to be observed for the loss more than the cause although the cause, in this case, seems to be of some discussion.

The individual responsible has to be going through his own specific Hell and the consequences are a further Hell. Other than seeing anyone die in this manner, seeing anyone go to Prison is as well hard to see happen. Unfortunately, our society offers little other remedies. Alternative sentencing has seemed to been relegated to the past. From personal experience I can tell you that the offer of two years in the Marines saved me many moons ago. In saying that I do not downplay the serious nature of this particualr situation, just that Prison is not the be all and end all of the totality of societal ills.

Also, from personal experience I can say that I’ve done some incredibly stupid things and that shooter could just have well been me in my drinking days. A drunk driver is no less dangerous than an drunk with a gun. Most of those I’ve known over the years have gotten behind the wheel of a car or on a bike well over the limit where driving or riding would have been advisable. Nobody or very few of us are completely clean in this respect. Doing stupid shit comes with the territory and a few of those who do pay a price in damage and judgement of consequences. Hopefully, somebody who knows better will think about this particular case in the future and multiple tragidies will be avoided.

This saddens me deeply, and also infuriates me. A moment of drunken lapse of reason, and now a presumably good man is dead, and all of us left alive have to deal with the consequences forever. EVERY stupid incident like this is used against us by those that would ban guns. AND patches! One thing the nannies do have right, alcohol and firearms don’t mix! If you’re going to be diving in the bottle, leave the piece in the bag, at home, with the OL, whatever… Just don’t have it where you’ll be tempted to play with it.

Sincere condolences to the family and friends of Mr. McDaniel. And even to Camarda, whose largest punishment will surely come from between his own ears, and will last forever.

Rule #1 – Never point a gun at anything unless you are absolutely willing to kill it… Out bad I would hope…

Jeezus…. Well we have some of those guys around here and they are a very tight, good group of guys. That’s a tragedy. Especially if it was getting where the guy had his time in as a P. That should mean that you look at these guys as your brothers and family…. It would be like losing your little kid brother or something. Condolences, love and respect….

  16. Aiza Says:

A gun is used for only one reason…. People like this should not own guns…. RIP

Reading between the lines, no bad-intent, no nothing, just one of those fucked-up things that happen. If anything good comes out of it, it could maybe be just to remind EVERYONE that toying with weapons whilst buzzed is not cool, even a little bit.

    With Respect.
